Our Current President
Moira Fletcher
Our President, Moira Fletcher, was born into a magical family with her father and mother being very involved both as performers and organisers of events. Her father, Duncan Fletcher, was President of the British Ring from September 1975 to September 1976, and Moira feels extremely honoured to now be wearing the presidential chain and keeping her family name going within this wonderful organisation.
Moira attended her first I.B.M. British Ring convention, held in Southport, in 1975, and has not missed one since. Along with her sister, Rena, she helped with most aspects of the conventions over the years — the tombola, registration desk, parade of flags, banquet and gala dinner, stewarding and general helping — and has also performed in a few of the shows and competitions over the years. With this personal experience of the convention built up over decades, she now leads our Convention Team and works to create events of a high standard, with both new and well-known performers, so that delegates experience high-quality, fun, friendly and magical conventions.
She has a passion for all things magic and hopes that during her term as President she can meet members all over the world, while encouraging others to join the British Ring. As we approach our centenary in 2028, Moira is determined we will continue to grow and provide support, encouragement and opportunities to magicians everywhere.
